A collection of nine recordings by Hal McGee, solo and in collaboration (with Ironing, Microwave Windows, Paramutual Operator, and Aaron Zarzutzki), collected here together for the first time as an album, recorded and originally released online at halmcgee.com in the first months of 2007. Styles vary from Noise to analog synthesizerscapes to spoken word. Live and home studio recordings. Sound sources and quality vary.

01) "Factor IXX" - Hal McGee: Moog Voyager Analog Synthesizer, Moog MF-104 Analog Delay, Moog MF-102 Ring Modulator

02) "Personality Assessment Test" - Live recording from Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Lenny Pearlman's Light And Progress Studio, 2604 NE 19th Drive, Gainesville, Florida. Hal McGee recites a text culled from e-mails he sent plus spam e-mails he received -- along with pre-recorded voice and keyboard samples by Jenifer Abell (Paramutual Operator). Also, pre-recorded incidental tapes by Andrew Chadwick (Ironing). Abstract and highly personal at the same time. Ironing, Aaron Zarzutski and Jijimuge also played that night. My thanks to Andrew Chadwick, Chris Miller, and Lenny Pearlman.

03) "Live Jam excerpt 01-06-07" - Live home studio recording from Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Hal McGee's apartment in Gainesville, Florida. Avant garde free form improvisation with sounds by Jenifer Abell (Paramutual Operator), Andrew Chadwick (Ironing), Brandon Abell (Microwave Windows), and Hal McGee. Keyboards, guitar synthesizer, tape manipulations, field recordings, piano, and sundry electronics.

04-05) audio excerpts below from the presentation of Hal McGee's DVD movie "The Secret Life Of Hal McGee". Excerpts are taken from the live improvised experimental music soundtrack created by Andrew Chadwick (Ironing) - tapes, live mix; Jenifer Abell (Paramutual Operator) - keyboard, flute; Aaron Zarzutzki - percussion; and McGee - electronics, theremin. Friday, March 2, 2007, at Lenny Pearlman's Light And Progress Gallery, 2604 NE 19th Drive, Gainesville, Florida.

06) "Live At Cafe Bohemia #1" - Mono audio document of duo performance of Hal McGee with Paramutual Operator (Jenifer Abell) at Cafe Bohemia, 937 Central Avenue, Saint Petersburg, Florida, Saturday, March 31, 2007. This is the first improvisational piece that we played that night, with Jen on flute and me, Hal McGee, on Moog Rogue synthesizer. Audio is taken by from the Hi8 videotape taken by Gabe of Space Program. The concert was presented by The Saint Petersburg Institute Of Noise. It was a great evening of experimental music and noise, with performances by Hunker Down Roy, James Kiwi, Microwave Windows, Boy + Girl, and Blast. The sound quality is not the greatest, but I hope and think that this recording will give you the flavor and feeling of the event.

07) "Live at Cafe Bohemia Momentum Of A New Self-Image" - Mono audio document recording of duo performance of Hal McGee with Paramutual Operator (Jenifer Abell) at Cafe Bohemia, 937 Central Avenue, Saint Petersburg, Florida, Saturday, March 31, 2007. This is the second piece that we played that night, "Momentum Of A New Self-Image". Jen Abell on flute and me, Hal McGee, doing spoken word.

08) "Noise Fuck Monument #1" - Circuit Bent Casio SK-1, Dark Star Plus Synth, Little Boy Black Synth, Shortwave Radio, Circuit Bent Radio Shack Electronic Reverb

09) "Factor IX" is a minimalist analog synth piece by Hal McGee that was originally released on Cassette Culture Compilation Two, a double CDR compilation, produced by Chris Phinney, in association with cassetteculture.net. Other artists on the compilation include Michael Thomas Jackson, Robin O'Brien, Violet, Ken Clinger, Big City Orchestra, If Bwana, Mental Anguish, Don Campau, Mystery Hearsay, Cultural Amnesia and 17 others. Hal McGee: Moog Voyager RME analog synthesizer and Moog MF-104 Analog Delay.

This collection does not include recordings with Hal McGee's groups The Analog Synthesizer Ensemble and Free Space (albums and collections of which will be presented on the Internet Archive); nor does it include tracks that were originally created and released at Tapegerm, or full-length album releases, such as The Man With The Tape Recorder and Magnetic Personality (both of which are available already on the Internet Archive).

I WILL EVENTUALLY UPLOAD LARGER VERSIONS OF THE PICTURES.
